Synotek Twin Assist Hook Rig – Reef Spec

The Synotek Twin Assist Rig (2 twin assists per pack) is new for 2019 and has been specifically produced for our jigging customers needs. These amazing twin assists have so many great features and are ideal for attaching to the top and bottom of any jig when targeting large, powerful fish species like Red Emperor, Nannygai, Golden Snapper, Coral Trout, Kingfish, Amberjack and so many more.

Features include:

1. We have specifically had the assist cord made to the exact right length for the gauge of hook as most generic assist rigs are too long for the shorter style jigs that are generally used today i.e. slow pitch jigs.

The 8/0 size is generally ideal for jigs that are in the range from 60g to 120g because of its short 15mm length assist cord it will not hang to low on the jig and reduce hook up rate. If you are running twin assists on either end of the jig i.e. a traditional slow pitch jig set up, then the 8/0 size could be used on jigs up to 250g. Please understand this is only a guide as many jigs range in length for the same weight, so therefore the correct size assist rig might differ to our recommendation.

The 9/0 size is generally ideal for jigs that are in the range from 80g to 150g because of its short 20mm length assist cord it will not hang to low on the jig and reduce hook up rate. If you are running twin assists on either end of the jig i.e. a traditional slow pitch jig set up, then the 9/0 size could be used on jigs up to 300g. Please understand this is only a guide as many jigs range in length for the same weight, so therefore the correct size assist rig might differ to our recommendation.

The 10/0 size is generally ideal for jigs that are in the range from 100g to 200g because of its short 25mm length assist cord it will not hang to low on the jig and reduce hook up rate. If you are running twin assists on either end of the jig i.e. a traditional slow pitch jig set up, then the 10/0 size could be used on jigs up to 400g. Please understand this is only a guide as many jigs range in length for the same weight, so therefore the correct size assist rig might differ to our recommendation.

2. The assist accord is the perfect gauge and is heavier enough to handle the rough abrasive mouths of big predator fish like Red Emperor but light enough to be freely swinging to have maximum hook up rate.

3. The hook gauge is the perfect right thickness to have amazing hook strength to handle the big fish but doesn’t compromise hook penetration from the hook being too thick.

4. The hook point is so sharp and strong and on one of our tests we had the hook point penetrate through the jaw bone of one of our reef fish.
